Greetings from Beijing. Well lets see... We left the house yesterday (Wednesday at 4:30pm)and arrived at our hotel at 12:30pm on Friday Beijing time. Now if there are some smart people out there, and I know there are a few... that would be Thursday at 11:30 CST. A whopping 31 hours. We did get some sleep on the long (15 1/2 hour flight) but we are very tired.
Ok enough about the flight. A few nice things about the flight, we met 3 other couples traveling to adopt. Why else do American couples go to China. Everyone was very nice and it was good to have others to talk to and navigate around the airports. They were from a different adoption agency but we all will meet up and leave together on the 3rd of August. I understand that Jake is coming back from down under on the 4th of August from LA? Mick, you will have to let us know what his flight is. Who knows he might be on our plane. That would be cool.
After getting settled in the hotel room and a brief cat nap, we ventured out to Carefore store. Thanks Stacy for the tip. Just imagine a Walmart with tons of people running around and you can get anything from fresh shrimp to kids cloths and everything in between. It was kind of overwhelming. So many people and a sales person around every corner. You get hello and that’s about all the help you can get. Very interesting though.
We are so happy that we got to meet up with Aunt Kati. (Susan's Aunt that has been in China) We went out to dinner and tomorrow we are going site seeing with the rest of the group. She is so excited that we are here and its oh so nice to see a familiar face. Plus she is a great translator. Sorry Kline family members. No news on when she will be in St. Louis. We will just have to wait and see.
Nothing much else to report. China is a very modern place, at least in the big city’s. It doesn’t feel to much different than the US. If you think all those US company's are hurting from slow sales at home, don’t worry. They are all here in great force. You wouldn’t believe how many Pepsi adds I’ve seen.
Well that’s all for now. I will post again tomorrow.

It is so good to hear from you! The whole department at work is keeping track of what's going on. I'm happy your flight went smoothly and that you arrived safely. How exciting you met up with other couples that are adopting too.
Aunt Pat, Uncle Ed, Kegan and Killian are coming on Sunday. Marshall is joining us for week of touring the St. Louis sights. It is very hot here. How is the weather there?
Wouldn't it be something if Jake was on your flight. I think the appropriate comment should be "it's a small world after all."

Susan and Michael,
Thanks for keeping us update on your journey. Makes it exciting for us too!. Kind of like waiting in the waiting room when someone is in labor except we get pictures too not just verbal updates. Guess your getting close to the actual pick up day. get lots of rest tonight.
Love
Criss, Craig and Noah
